Why Coconut Water ?


Coconuts are grown in over 80 countries, and many cultures have relied heavily on coconuts and even revered them. Philippinos often call the coconut the “tree of life.” In Malay, coconut is pokok seribu guna – “the tree of a thousand uses.” In Sanskrit, it’s kalpa vriksha – “the tree which provides all the necessities of life.”

Young coconuts contain a clear, delicious liquid which we call coconut water. Coconut water is rich in potassium, low in calories and contains no fat. It also contains antioxidants. According to Wikipedia:

Coconut water contains sugar, dietary fiber, proteins, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, and provides an isotonic electrolyte balance.

Coconut water has become wildly popular amongst yogis because of its amazing hydrating properties. It replenishes vital fluids and electrolytes lost during a hot yoga session.
