What should I wear?
Bare feet, long or capri pants are preferred, as well as, shirts that cover your arm pits.
Avoid strappy backed sport shirts and bras, as well as, low cut pants.
NO socks, perfume, jewelry or watches are to be worn while practicing aerial yoga.
Do I need previous yoga experience?
Just as in every yoga class, there are different levels and options for each aerial yoga posture and sequence, so you can take things at your own pace and comfort.
As a complete beginner you are more than welcome to attend aerial yoga class, though we suggest attending a FLIGHT TRAINING introductory workshop first.
This workshop breaks things down step-by-step, so regardless of experience, you can feel comfortable and safe doing aerial. In it we cover primary aerial yoga postures, proper technique and inversion safety. In this informal and fun setting, there’s lots of time to ask questions, play in the silks and receive assistance if you need it.
Should I eat before class?
We do not recommend practising aerial yoga on an empty stomach. To stave of dizziness and assist with strength and stamina, eat a LIGHT meal that contains protein, (grounding) carbs and healthy fats, and is proven to settle well in your stomach.
Simple suggestions: toast with peanut butter, avocado or egg, salad with your favourite protein, chicken with quinoa and veggies, baked yams and avocado, fruit and nuts with yogourt.
How are the silks cleaned?
The aerial silks are disinfected after each class, and left hanging to dry and air out. They are washed with hospital grade cleaners once a week.
